Informative Speakers Scheduled for February

Our February Club Meeting will feature 3 outstanding speakers: Geneviéve Jones-Wright, candidate for District Attorney; Dr. Michael McQuary, District C School Board Member; and Jason Bercovitch from Congressman Scott Peters’ office.

Geneviéve Jones-Wright

A native San Diegan, Jones-Wright has served the County of San Diego as a Deputy Public Defender since 2006. In this capacity, she has represented clients charged with a variety of crimes and has spent over a decade experiencing the strengths and pitfalls of the criminal justice system. Her advocacy skills, passion, and sense of fairness have garnered her a reputation of an exceptional attorney and community leader. Read more about Genevieve here:

Dr. Michael McQuary

Dr. McQuary is current the School Board representative for District C, which includes schools in La Jolla, Pacific Beach, Point Loma, Linda Vista, and downtown. He has been Statewide President of the California Democratic Council, President of Mission Bay Rotary Club, member of the Rotary District Leadership Team, Logistics Coordinator for the San Diego Youth Symphony’s International MusiCamp Program, and a member of Rotary Peace Committee.  Currently, Dr. McQuary is a member of the La Jolla Golden Triangle Rotary Club, Director of Pacific Beach Town Council (5 terms), member of the Pacific Beach Business Improvement District (Discover PB), and steering committee member of the San Diego – Panama Sister City Association. Jason Bercovitch

Jason Bercovitch in a Field Representative for Congressman Scott Peters covering immigrant and faith-based community outreach, international trade, Middle East foreign affairs, financial services and gun safety policy areas. Jason began as an intern in Representative Peters’ District Office in 2013 after working various campaigns during the 2012 cycle. Previously, he interned for Congresswoman Susan Davis while working as a financial advisor and loan officer at various local financial institutions. Jason has a Bachelor of the Arts in Business Economics with a minor in Political Science from the University of California- Riverside, and lived for much of his childhood in Puerto Rico, becoming fluent in Spanish during his time on the island.
