April Meeting

Join us on April 6th, 2017 for our regular monthly meeting. Speakers will be Rafael Castellanos & Jorden Beane.

San Diego Port Commission Vice Chairman Rafael Castellanos will speak to the club about the Port’s 2013 climate action plan implementation and accomplishments, as well as the Port’s efforts to advance the progressive principle of environmental justice.

Rafael Castellanos is a member of the Board of Port Commissioners of the Unified Port of San Diego, currently serving as its Vice Chairman. Rafael is also the chair of the Port’s Environmental Advisory Committee.  He is a partner with the law firm Solomon Minton Cardinal Doyle & Smith LLP, where he specializes in commercial transactional law. His professional affiliations include service on the Board of Directors of MANA de San Diego, the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association, and the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation.  Rafael is a member of the California State Bar Association, the San Diego County Bar Association, the Mexican American Business and Professional Association, and the San Diego Foundation’s Business Forum on Climate Change. Rafael graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and he earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of Chicago Law School as a Cornerstone Scholar.

We will also hear from Jordan Beane, PBDC member and candidate for our own District 2 of the San Diego City Council.

He’s running for the city council after a career in sports media, most recently with the San Diego Chargers. Read about why he’s running for city council here.
