||In the spirit of this holiday season, we would like to take a moment to thank you for your relentless dedication and support. Everyone deserves safe housing, access to quality medical care, a good education, and a living wage job – and there is no better way to ensure this than by taxing Wall Street.
The start of a new year brings with it ample opportunity to start anew, and we are going to be sure to start the new year off right with a three-month concentrated push for more Congressional co-sponsors as the lead up to a national day of action on April 4. Since our October RHT Conference – which included discussions with Laura Flanders of GRITtv, leading economists Robert Pollin and Jeffrey Sachs, a member of the European Parliament, Representatives Ellison, Conyers, Chu, and Edwards, and visits to 93 Congressional offices by RHT supporters – the argument for a sales tax on Wall Street to fund education, jobs, global health, and infrastructure is really heating up.
2014 is a Congressional election year, and this means we have the opportunity to make the Robin Hood Tax a topic of debate among candidates and incumbents running for reelection – but only if we continue advocating and agitating for real change.
